PAL’s Hydraulic Combo Pumps are exceptionally mobile and compact designs that integrate the pump and actuator together for specific applications. The actuator or ram can be used independently or together with tooling to make quick work of even the largest jobs. This example of combo-pump combines a pump (up to 10,000 psi), actuator and dies for punching holes in electrical control boxes (both straight and 90 degrees perpendicular). Large holes are punched with a smooth, sheared finish as well as rectangular or non-rotating shapes can be punched right at the job site and eliminates the need to pre-order control boxes when the final configurations may be unknown.
Like all of PAL’s hydraulic hand pumps, the combo pumps are modular in their design allowing them to be serviced with replacement components and customized for the specific use cases and further adapted for unique applications like: rescue equipment (Jaws-of-Life), cutting, pulling, lifting, maintenance and repair, test and diagnostics, aerospace, and where requirements for ultra-portability, reliability and power (up to 100 tons or greater) are needed.
This unique solution is a direct result of a need to simplify a product used every day for movement of aircraft at every major airport in the World. By combining the pump and jack together the opportunity for failure and wear of hoses is eliminated. In addition, the operator is positioned safely out of area where movement and loading/unloading occur. This is just one example of the customization that is possible with PAL’s modular product design and flexibility. Modular design allows for service and replacement of components of their products at considerable savings from replacing the entire unit. Additionally, it allows interchangeability so that components can be integrated to meet the exact customer specification. PAL’s has leveraged its long history working with these type of products to eliminate common causes of failure such as overtightening of reliefs, leakage created from poor design, and pre-mature failure from use of plastic parts.
